that thing in the heart
k. louise vincent
Prepare for a beloved heist, for a rogue calling out. Prepare for a tender uprising, a hallelujah,
a shout. An unsquared happiness, a boat with many oars.
Prepare for a multi-dimensional mutiny, for the connected life as now, for the immense pleasure
of our receiving, even in this late hour.
Prepare for a love that roars.
K. Louise Vincent writes in the tradition of bearing witness and threshold life. Her work is rooted in a long social justice history recognized by the ERA BC Community Service award. She has four book publications as well as several chapbooks and collaborative works. Her most recent poetry manuscript, "the blue fox," chronicles an exiled life of continuing in a turbulent world of war, tenderness and resurgence. |
